Watercolor Hues

Honey + Baking Soda

I tried an all natural face wash this morning made out of honey and baking soda I found on No More Dirty Looks' blog. I feel like such a crunchy hippy but when I read the ingredients on my typical facewash bottles, I get a little freaked out. So today is my first day of trying a mixture of raw honey and a little bit of baking soda to add some texture for exfoliating.

Hopefully this turns out to be a good alternative to the store bought stuff!

New Look for Pinterest

I'm digging the new layout for Pinterest.

What "About" You?

Earlier today I was working on my "about" page for my website for Oneleven Wedding and realized just how hard it is to put into words what I want my business to be about and who I am. This quote gave me some insight into what to write about.

And did anyone remember that in the last season of Lost Jacob says to Ben "What about you"? Well, probably not, but it's something that is said around the Brady house quite a bit with tons of laughter following.

The A-Z of Laura

This A-Z list is a little cheesy but a lot of fun. I've seen it on a few blogs, most recently Danielle's of Sometimes Sweet.

A. Age: 26
B. Bed size: Queen
C. Chore that you hate: Switching over the laundry from the washer to the dryer - especially when it gets all tangled and twisted
D. Dogs: None, only two kitties
E. Essential start to your day: A hot cup of coffee and some time spent in the Bible
F. Favorite color: Mustard
G. Gold or silver: Most recently I've been into gold but a lot of my jewelry, like my wedding rings, are silver
H. Height: A tiny 5'2"
I. Instruments you play: I used to play the clarinet but I haven't touched it in more than 10 years
J. Job Title: Graphic designer and owner of Oneleven Creative
K. Kids: None yet
L. Live: Pennsylvania
M. Mother's name: Lee
N. Nicknames: Don't really have any
O. Overnight hospital stays: In 4th grade I had fluid in my hip and had to stay in the hospital and I also had shoulder surgery a few years ago from a softball injury
P. Pet peeves: Loud chewing
Q. Quote from a movie: Oh this is too hard and there's not much from movies that stick with me
R. Right or left handed: Right handed
S. Siblings: One older sister
U. Underwear: Too weird of a question to even answer
V. Vegetable you hate: Tomatoes
W. What makes you run late: When I can't find anything to wear and I'm throwing all of my clothes out of the closet and drawers to try to find something I like
X. X-rays you've had: Dental and shoulder
Y. Yummy food that you make: It's hard to pick one thing, but I've been baking lots of yummy banana bread lately.
Z. Zoo animal. I haven't been to the zoo in ages, but I really like animals that hang out in the water like penguins and otters.

That was easy and fun. Hope y'all had a fun Wednesday!

Happy Friday Links

This week really flew by which is awesome, but I'm not sure how productive it was. I'm looking forward to the weekend. Tonight I have a special surprise planned for my hubby, Saturday my sister is getting married!!, and Sunday will be a nice relaxing day. Fall is definitely in the air and I'm loving it. The smells and tastes of fall are so exciting. Enjoy your weekend!

Living on the Seas

I never thought a houseboat could be an architectural beauty, but after taking a tour of this one on Apartment Therapy I changed my mind. Homeowner, Sue, docks her 1,000 square foot house in Seattle, Washington. Get the details on her home and the design aesthetic on the Apartment Therapy.

Chipmunk Cheeks

I've been absent the past few days because I look much like this chipmunk and I've been busy stuffing my face with ice cream. My wisdom teeth surgery went well but I've been taking it easy.

Happy Friday Links

It's Friday, Friday, Friday. My day started with my silly husband singing a custom version of "Friday" by Rebecca Black - and that's how I knew today would be a good one. I have a few picnics and family stuff this weekend to celebrate Labor Day. And I'll be busy cooking lots of soft food to get ready for recovering from my wisdom tooth surgery scheduled for next Tuesday. I hope everyone has a great long weekend!
